Invite a co-host
Only an owner can change membership.
- Open the hosted space and select Manage access.
- Under Invite a co-host, enter the colleague’s exact Ed.ie username or email address.
- Choose Editor or Owner.
- Select Send invite.
The colleague sees a pending invitation under Invitations and gains access after accepting it.
Choose the right role
An Editor can enter the hosted space and run its sessions. An Owner can do that and can also invite, remove, or change members.
Grant owner access only to people who should manage the teaching team. Keep at least one active owner so the space cannot be left without someone able to manage access.
Change or remove access
Open Manage access and use the controls beside the member. Owners can change a member’s role, remove active access, or deal with a pending invitation.
Removing someone prevents future access; it does not rewrite activity they previously helped run.
Leave a hosted space
On Your spaces, open the three-dot actions menu on the space card and select Leave space. Confirming removes your own access; it does not delete the space or its sessions.
The final active owner cannot leave, because the space would no longer have anyone able to manage access. Make another member an owner first, then leave. Editors can leave without transferring ownership.
Work in the same session
Multiple hosts can open the same live session. Prompt changes, session access, timers, moderation, and display settings are shared.
For a smooth class, agree who controls the prompt and projector. A second host can concentrate on screening responses and group questions.
Troubleshoot an invitation
- For a username, use the exact Ed.ie username.
- For an email, use the address associated with the colleague’s Ed.ie sign-in.
- If they already belong to the space, manage their existing member row instead.
- If you see View-only access, ask a current owner to make the change.
