Getting started
Get access to a hosted space
Accept an invitation and understand why a hosted space may not appear in your account.

How access works
Hosted spaces are not created automatically for every account. An Ed.ie administrator can create one for you, or an existing owner can invite you to a space as an editor or owner.
Access belongs to your signed-in Ed.ie account. Participants do not need hosted-space access to join a session.
Accept an invitation
- Sign in with the account the owner invited.
- Open the account menu and select Invitations.
- Find the hosted space under Pending invites.
- Check the offered role, then select Accept.
The space appears under Your spaces after acceptance. Selecting Decline removes the pending invitation without granting access.
If you do not see any hosted spaces
The most likely explanation is that no space has been shared with the account you used to sign in.
Check that:
- you signed in with the intended Google or GitHub account;
- Invitations does not contain a pending invitation;
- the owner used your exact Ed.ie username or the email address associated with your sign-in; and
- you have refreshed Your spaces after accepting.
If there is no invitation, ask the space owner to check the pending member entry or send a new invitation. If your class needs a new hosted space, ask the Ed.ie administrator for your deployment.
Understand your role
An Editor can enter the hosted space and run sessions. An Owner can also invite, remove, and change members. Your role appears on the space card under Your spaces.
